World2Fly launches direct flights between Madrid and Cartagena de Indias from July 2026

World2Fly, the airline belonging to the World2Meet Group, will begin operating its direct flight between Madrid and Cartagena de Indias (Colombia) on 3 July 2026. The route will be operated with a modern Airbus A350, with capacity for 432 passengers, and will offer both Business and Economy classes, ensuring comfort and sustainability. Flights will depart from Madrid at 14:55, arriving in Cartagena at 17:45, while the return flight will leave Cartagena at 19:45 and arrive in Madrid at 11:55 the following day. Tickets are already available for booking on the World2Fly website and through travel agencies, initially for departures in July and August 2026, with additional dates to be added soon.

The launch of this new connection is the result of collaboration between the Cartagena City Council, the Secretariat of Tourism, Corpoturismo, ProColombia, the Cartagena Airport International Operator (OINAC), and World2Fly. It will strengthen long-haul tourism, the local economy, and the international profile of the city.

The Mayor of Cartagena de Indias, Dumek Turbay, noted that this new route will boost tourist arrivals to Cartagena, a city that currently has 21 international connections. He also emphasised the historic cultural and heritage ties with Spain, which will be reflected in an increase in visits: “Our cultural, heritage and architectural wealth has a deep historical connection with Spain; as such, people from Cartagena and Spaniards share much in common, which always leads to a strong mutual interest in visits, an interest that will now grow further thanks to this new direct route with Madrid.”

ProColombia and Corpoturismo have also welcomed the new connection. Carmen Caballero, President of ProColombia, remarked that the route consolidates Cartagena as a world-class destination and diversifies its European source markets. Liliana Rodríguez, Executive President of Corpoturismo, noted that the Spanish market represents 9% of the city’s visitors and that there has been a 19.3% increase compared to 2024, underlining the importance of the new route.
