Every year we witness numerous forest fires. At W2M we understand the importance of trees in the fight against climate change, and the difficulty of replacing forests today.
That’s why we joined Bosques Sostenibles in 2022. Contributing to the care and restoration of burnt areas of Spain and Portugal by planting and maintaining trees.
Bosques Sostenibles was founded as an environmental organisation aspiring to generate real positive impact in local areas.
With very different aims and values to other organisations, it has established its own management and operations in order to carry out its mission. An original business model was developed, based on the concept of “sustainable venturing”.
What does the Sustainable Venturing model consist of?
Sustainable Venturing is an alternative business model with which Bosques Sostenibles facilitates investment by private capital: businesses, startups and individuals, in projects for the creation and conservation of forests. All the projects are located in damaged areas or those at risk of deforestation, in Spain and Portugal. The business model is based on the concept of Sustainable Venturing, which facilitates the investment of private capital in high-impact social responsibility actions.
This model provides funds for large-scale projects to preserve and maintain forests, either state-owned or private, whose positive impact has been acknowledged by the Ministry for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge, and the Spanish Climate Change Office.
