Sustainable W2M

Commitment

Responsible Impact is the W2M initiative that seeks to move towards a circular economy, facilitate responsible change and encourage responsibility in tourism products. We adhere to the United Nations’ Pact, a global initiative that brings together companies and organisations dedicated to corporate social responsibility and sustainable development.

Our decarbonisation strategy is validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), which certifies that it is aligned with climate science and the Paris Agreement.

We structure our actions around three cornerstones: Circular economy, Responsible transformation, and Responsible product, which guide our decisions towards a more sustainable and conscious form of tourism.

CIRCULAR ECONOMY

We encourage environmentally respectful practices that ensure the resilience of tourism, focusing on decarbonising our operations and reducing waste.

We roll out actions to reduce emissions and waste in each business line, allowing us to achieve the proposed goals as quickly as possible.

Responsible change

We educate all the people in our value chain, from suppliers and distributors to workers and strategic partners, in the importance of adopting sustainable practices. By means of workshops, training courses and ongoing collaboration, we raise awareness of efficient use of resources, reducing the carbon footprint, and respect for human rights and animal welfare.

We want to contribute to the transformation of our industry, fostering a change towards more responsible and innovative business models that are committed to the well-being of the planet and society.

Responsible product

Our focus is to design and market tourism products that meet high quality standards but also have a positive impact on communities and local areas.

This is a lengthy process affected by numerous factors, so it’s important to maintain close, collaborative relations with our providers in order to drive greater responsibility in the sector.

Roadmap

  • Since 2024, our offices, stores and hotels have been operating with 100% renewable energy

  • By 2026, we will be zero waste to landfill in all our operations (offices, stores, planes, and hotels)

  • We are promoting a more responsible tourism product by working hand in hand with our suppliers and increasing sustainability awareness in our value chain

  • We implement emission reduction actions to achieve the 2030 target of 50% less at W2M and 16% fewer emissions per passenger for the airline

  • We strive to achieve carbon neutrality by 2040 in our intermediary and hotel activities, and by 2050 for the airline, in line with IATA's commitment
